Vyntra blow for Panathinaikos
By: Peter Katsiris | February 21st, 2009
Panathinaikos FC received a dose of bad news ahead of their introductory leg to the Round of 16 tie with Villarreal next week, as Loukas Vyntra was ruled out of his side’s trip to ‘El Madrigal’ during midweek.
According to the Greek press, bruising to the left leg will keep Vyntra out of Panathinaikos’ Super League fixture against Panionios, and the crucial Champions League match against their Spanish rivals.
The 28-year-old tops a long list of absentees for Panathinaikos’ meeting with Panionios on Saturday, as Gilberto Silva, Nikos Spyropoulos, Marcelo Mattos, Sotiris Leontiou, and Evangelos Mantzios have all been left off the roster.
