Ivanschitz to miss out on visit to the Weser
By: Peter Katsiris | November 3rd, 2008
Andreas Ivanschitz is expected to miss Panathinaikos’ all-important visit to the Weser Stadion to play Werder Bremen for match-day four of the UEFA Champions League group stage on Tuesday – a crucial match for both sides.
The Austria international has been ruled out of the match, after being diagnosed with tendonitis in his left thigh. It was feared that this scenario might play out, after Ivanschitz missed out on Panathinaikos’ weekend domestic fixture against Panionios.
The match itself holds great importance for Panathinaikos, who sit at the foot of Group B with one point – the result of a 2-2 draw in Athens a fort night ago. While the Athenian giants travel to Bremen, Jose Mourinho’s Inter Milan makes the trip across the Mediterranean to face Cypriot Champions Anorthosis Famagusta in Nicosia.
