Iraklis took little time to announce its first signing of the winter transfer period, as the centenary club announced the capture of Aleksandar Vukovic on Friday. Despite the move rumoured as early as December 17th, Iraklis made the transfer official by confirming they had acquired the rights of the 29-year-old.
An announcement on the club’s official website gave insight to the length of the contract, “Iraklis announces the beginning of cooperation with Serbian midfielder, Aleksandar Vukovic, who departs from Legia Warsaw to join the ‘Kyanalefkon’ on a contract spanning 2.5 years.”
Iraklis’ first match of the New Year comes this Sunday away to Panserraikos . After ending 2008 on a high consisting of two consecutive wins, Iraklis will look to push their win streak to three games with a win in Serres.
