Ergotelis betting on Beto
By: Peter Katsiris | January 2nd, 2009
According to reports from Greece, Ergotelis is very close to securing the services of Brazilian midfielder Beto. Reports indicate both sides have advances to the final stages of negotiations, and a verdict will be released in the coming days.
The Brazilian, notably regarded for his time with Benfica, is currently without a club and a move to Crete looks like a perfect change in order to resume his career. The 32-year-old also seems to be an ideal replacement for the departed Dimitrios Grammozis, who left the Cretan club for Cypriot side AC Omonia as of January 1st.
In other news, Ergotelis manager Nikos Karageorgiou released his roster for Ergotelis’s first match of the New Year on Friday: Daskalaki, Posza, Orfanos, Kennedy, Geladaris, Gialousis, Plassnegger, Hieblinger, Mauricio, Kordonouris, Koiliaras, Romano, Rogerio, Koutsianikoulis, Frangkoulakis, Junior, Ogounsoto, Vakouftsis, Budimir and Kefaloukos.
Ergotelis kicks off the second half of the Super League season against Panthrakikos in Crete on Saturday.
