Recoba gets PSAT Fair-play award

In their annual award ceremony, the Pan-Hellenic Association of Sports Press (PSAT) honoured many of Greece’s top athletes of 2008 on Monday. Among the winners was Panionios’ Alvaro Recoba, who received a fair-play award from the Greek Press.
The Uruguayan, whose transfer took the Super League by storm, has not made the desired impact in Greece thus far; all thanks to an injury-ridden campaign. Combining with patriot Fabian Estoyanoff, the South American duo were the biggest names to arrive in Greece over the summer.
Other awards presented to Greek football figures included a special honour to the amateur clubs of Iraklis and Panathinaikos, whom celebrated their centenary season this past year.
