Petro-goal extends Panathinaikos stay until 2013

Having signed starlet Sotiris Ninis to a contract extension earlier this year, Panathinaikos made sure they held on to another Greek prospect by signing Antonis Petropoulos to a contract extension keeping the 23-year-old in the green-and-white until 2013.
While the club was in a bit of a striker crisis during a string of injuries to Evangelos Mantzios and since transferred Brazilian Rodrigo Souza, Petropoulos performed on tune as he struck for two goals in as many games, but his season tally features five goals in nine Super League appearances for the club.
The youngster was truly ecstatic about the news, as he commented on the situation after news broke about his newly-signed extension. “I am very happy to stay at Panathinaikos,” said Petropoulos.
“I want to continue to fight for the club for several more years.”
“I would like to thank coach Ten Cate, the directors, and management; I will truly fight to justify their confidence in me.”
“This is what I wanted,” concluded a satisfied Petropoulos
The contract is apparently a revised offer, from a previous proposal which kept Petropoulos with Panathinaikos until 2012. The new offer is expected to see Petropoulos rake in anywhere from € 45 000 to € 150 000 over the next four years.
Vyntra until 2011, Simao next to negotiate
Reports from Greece have also revealed that Loukas Vyntra has signed on at the club until 2011, as the Greece international reportedly penned a deal with Panathinaikos shortly before Poetropoulos signed his extension.
With two stars already signed, Panathinaikos is looking for its third extension and targeting Mozambique midfielder Simao. Reports suggest Simao will be offered a long-term deal which would keep him in Athens until 2013.
