Popovic pops the ‘question’ on Facebook

By: Peter Katsiris | February 17th, 2009

It’s not the typical question you might be thinking of, but Zdravko Popovic still had to ask, as OFI Crete’s Croatian striker turned to the popular website www.facebook.com to vent his frustration.

After OFI could only muster a 1-1 draw with Asteras Tripolis on Sunday, a result apparently skewed by referee Christofors Zografos, Popovic’s facebook status, a self-editable option, had words for the Mr. Zografos.

Simply reading “kyrie zwgrafe…giati?” or “Mr. Zografos…why?” Popovic subtly questioned Zografos’ decisions from Sunday afternoon.

There is no idea whether or not there will be punishment for Popovic, but for Zografos, there has been a claim lodged against the Greek referee. A claim to collect damages has been issued by the club’s shareholders, Antonis Sarris and Kostas Grigorakis, as the club searches for consoling after what they believe was “an injustice act”.
