Greek Renovations

By: Peter Katsiris | September 24th, 2008

It’s nothing like what Pericles achieved as general of Athens during the Athenian Golden Age, but there are rapid changes headed your way courtesy of the Greek fanatics at www.theoffside.com and www.worldcupblog.org.

After months of carrying out headlines surrounding Greek clubs at the Greece Blog on worldcupblog.org, I can proudly say that theoffside.com has opened its doors to a new blog all about Greece.

This blog will provide with up-to-date news, stories, and rumors circulating the Greek Super League. Lead by Chris Paraskevas, and myself, Peter Katsiris, team coverage will grow rapidly and efficiently.

To avoid any confusion/crossover between any of the blogs, this particular blog will strictly focus on the sixteen clubs that make up the Greek top flight. With that being said, the Greece blog over at www.worldcupblog.org will center around the Greek National Team, and Greek soccer players playing abroad (out of Greece).

With Chris and I, having invidual duties with the AEK Blog and the Olympiacos Blog respectively, the Greece Blog will only have links to the pages of AEK and Olympiacos. That leaves room for blog spotlights for the several other Greek clubs which have not been covered by a seperate blogger.

As mentioned in previous blogs on both sites, there is plenty of room to start up blogs for Panathinaikos, Aris, PAOK, Larissa, Asteras Tripolis, Panionios and so on. For this to be done, we will need some voluntary bloggers to contact Daryl Grove (daryl@theoffside.com) to commence a blog all about one of the remainining Greek clubs.

With the Greek Super League growing in popularity — all be it slowly — it would be superb if we could get proper representation of the Greek clubs.

I — as well as Chris — look forward to bringing all you readers the “low-down” on the Greek game. To further improve our presentation of the Greece Blog, I would like to suggest all of you to not be afraid to leave any comments — so long as it isn’t at all racist/discriminatory, or profain.

Thanks,

Peter Katsiris
