By: Peter Katsiris | October 9th, 2008
Vassilis Gagatsis was re-elected as president of the Hellenic Football Federation (EPO), to mark the beginning of his third term in office. Results, which were announced Saturday, saw the incumbent emerge yet again through a landslide victory.
The results showed that Gagatsis claimed forty-six of the forty-seven available votes. The experienced leader released a statement through the Hellenic Football Federation’s official website.
“The support I have received is recognition of the work that has been done during the last eight years to improve football,” he said in a statement posted shortly after the results were official.
Gagatsis has played a crucial role in the evolution of Greek football on both the international and club level in recent years. However, Gagatsis revealed he has an agenda set to overcome the obstacles plaguing Greek football – particularly the Greek Super League.
